CHIASMA showcases its Research Progress & Collaborations at the EU Commission’s SSbD Networking Event

The CHIASMA Project was invited to present its R&I Objectives at the European Commission’s event entited ´Safe and Sustainable by Design – Networking of Horizon Europe Projects’, held in Brussels on the 20. March 2026. The networking event followed the European Commission’s conference on Safe and Sustainable by Design: Accelerating the industrial transision.

The networking event brought together SSbD-related projects funded by the EU’s R&I Framework programme Horizon Europe; it was organised by the European Commission Directorate-General For Research and Innovation and the European Joint Research Centre (JRC). Carsten SCHIERENBECK, (DG RTD) and Silke OBST (HADEA) kicked-off the event, followed by interesting presentations of overarching European Initiatives.

The event provided the excellent opportunity to exchange with a multitude of other EU-funded projects working in the field of Safe and Sustainable by Design. Several CHIASMA Partner represnetatives attended the event, in some cases representing other SSbD-related projects that the CHIASMA Project is already closely collaborating with; these included: Tommaso Serchi Tommaso Serchi from the Luxembourg Institute of Science & Technology (LIST), representing the CHIASMA Project, Steffi Friedrichs and Anna Pohl from the AcumenIST (AIST), Coordinator of the MACRAMÉ Project (Anna also represented the INSIGHT Project), and Thomas Exner from Seven Past Nine (7P9), representing the PINK Project.
